Vinous Stephen Tanzer - 01 Sep 18
(from what Raphaël Coche described as perfect grapes, untouched by frost): Penetrating scents of crushed stone and lemon; classic Perrières! Smooth and very dense on the palate, with its flavors of crushed rock, lemon, lime, underripe pineapple, flowers and saline minerality showing great inner-mouth tension. This, too, boasts terrific dry extract. Finishes with extraordinary sappiness and rising length, like an electric shock to the palate. This wonderfully juicy, digestible wine spreads out horizontally to excite the taste buds.

Meursault Fine Wine

Meursault

Meursault, in Burgundy's Côte de Beaune, is famed for its rich and complex Chardonnay wines. Known for opulent textures, vibrant acidity, and nutty, buttery flavours with notes of stone fruits, citrus, and hazelnuts, these wines also feature a subtle minerality and creamy mouthfeel from limestone-rich soils and oak ageing. Though lacking Grand Cru vineyards, Premier Cru sites like Les Perrières, Les Genevrières, and Les Charmes produce exceptional wines. Top producers include Domaine des Comtes Lafon, Domaine Roulot, and Domaine Coche-Dury, all celebrated for showcasing Meursault's unique terroir.
